Tech Yoda's Tip of the Week: Taking Shortcuts

I've spoken about shortcuts before, but it bears repeating since they're just so darn useful.  Here are some handy keyboard shortcuts for getting around without your mouse:

• Ctrl + C / Ctrl + X / Ctrl + V: This one is pretty well known, but if you aren't using it, you should be!  Ctrl + C copies whatever is selected, Ctrl + X cuts whatever is selected (if you only want to move something, rather than keep a copy in the original location), and then Ctrl + V will paste whatever you've copied or cut into a new location.
• Ctrl + A: Select all on the page
• F2: Renames the selected file.  Really handy for renaming photos.
• F7: Spellcheck
• Alt + Tab: Switch between open applications (add Shift, and you can go in the reverse direction).
• Ctrl + P: Print
• Ctrl + S: Save
• Tab: If you're in a form, whether it be PDF, word, or online, Tab will move you from one box to the next to fill in your information.
• Spacebar: Related to tab, if you're in a form, spacebar will check or uncheck boxes for you.
• Alt + F4: Close the window.
